Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 October 2026
Who we are
This website (www.daleforward.com) is run by Dale Forward, trading as DFARTWORK (ABN 96 290 691 134), a sole trader based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are responsible for the personal information collected through this site. In this policy, “you” means anyone whose personal information we collect.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). Our contact details are at the end of this policy.
You don’t have to give us personal information. If you choose not to, we may not be able to process an order or reply to you.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (the checkout asks for it so the courier can contact you about delivery), what you bought and your order history. Card and PayPal details are handled by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
- When you browse: device, browser and network information, approximate location (from your IP address), pages viewed, how you arrived at the site and how you use it. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies below).
- NFTs: if you buy one of our NFTs on a marketplace, your public wallet address and the transaction are recorded on the public XRP Ledger. That isn’t something we control or can delete.
If you give us personal information about someone else (for example, a gift recipient’s name and address), you confirm you have their permission to do so. If we receive your personal information from a third party, we will protect it as set out in this policy.
Why we use it
- to process, make and deliver your order, and handle returns, refunds and faulty items
- to reply to your messages and communicate with you about your order
- to prevent fraud and keep the site secure
- to understand how the site is used and improve it
- to send you emails about new designs and releases, only if you tick “Subscribe to our email list” at checkout. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing us
- to keep internal records and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
| Service | What it does | Where data may be processed |
|---|---|---|
| Big Cartel | Runs our online store and checkout | USA |
| Stripe | Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments, and fraud prevention | USA and other countries |
| PayPal | PayPal payments | USA and other countries |
| Printful | Prints and ships your order (receives your name, address and order details) | USA, EU, UK, Australia and other countries where Printful has facilities |
| Postal and courier companies | Deliver your order | Your country and countries in transit |
| Google Analytics | Website visitor statistics | USA |
| Cloudflare | Website security, performance and visitor statistics | USA and global |
We may also disclose personal information to courts, tribunals, regulators or law enforcement where the law requires it, in connection with actual or prospective legal proceedings, or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.
If our business, or part of it, is sold or transferred, customer records may be transferred to the new owner to the extent the law allows, and they would need to handle them in line with this policy.
We don’t sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Because most of the services above are based overseas, your information will be sent to and stored outside Australia, mainly in the USA, and also in the EU, UK and other countries where our print and delivery partners operate. Those countries may not have the same privacy protections as Australia. We choose established providers that publish their own privacy and security commitments. If you have concerns about this, please contact us.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies to run the shopping cart, checkout and site security (Big Cartel, Cloudflare and Stripe fraud prevention). The site won’t work properly without them.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, to count visits and see how the site is used. You can block these in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To learn how Google uses this data, see www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
Big Cartel and Cloudflare also collect basic visitor statistics using small pieces of code on our pages (sometimes called web beacons).
| Provider | Examples of cookies | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Big Cartel | cart, visited | Shopping cart and store operation |
| Cloudflare | __cf_bm, _cfuvid, cf_clearance | Security and bot protection |
| Stripe | __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Payment fraud prevention |
| Google Analytics | _ga, _ga_* | Visitor statistics |
Cookies don’t by themselves tell us your email address or other identifying details. Do Not Track: our site doesn’t currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to meet tax and accounting requirements (generally 5 years in Australia), then delete or de-identify them. We delete messages when they’re no longer needed or when you ask, unless we need to keep them for a legal reason.
Security
We use reputable platforms that encrypt data in transit (HTTPS) and handle payments securely, and we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. No system or internet transmission is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee the security of information sent to us. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll let you know.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct it if it’s inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading
- delete it (unless we must keep it, for example for tax records)
- stop sending you marketing emails
Making a request is free. Email [email protected]. We’ll reply within 30 days, and we may need to confirm your identity first. In limited cases set out in the Privacy Act we may be unable to give you access, and if so we’ll explain why. Please let us know if your details change.
If you’re in the EU or UK: under the GDPR and UK GDPR you also have the right to object to or restrict our use of your information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (orders); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the site and responding to messages); legal obligation (tax records); and your consent where it is required (for example, for marketing emails and analytics cookies). You can also complain to your local data protection authority (for example, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office).
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, email [email protected] with the details. We’ll look into it and reply in writing within 30 days, explaining the outcome and anything we’ll do to fix it. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992), or to your local data protection authority if you’re overseas.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, including NFT marketplaces (XRP Cafe), social media and payment providers. We don’t control those sites, and their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make significant changes, we’ll highlight them on this page.
